About us
Mo liu is you is the first project from mobani studio.
it's a playground of spontaneity — a creative experiment sparked in 2021 by Angelika Li and Hedy Leung. Though we were living on different continents at the time, art keeps us connected. We bridge time zones, cultures, and emotions with scribbles, daydreams, and the unexpected charm of Sogetsu Ikebana.
It all began with a sketch. A doodle sliding into an inbox like a wandering postcard — playful, unplanned, full of possibility. What started as a simple exchange grew into something more. A chat, not in words, but in lines, colours, and senseless little moments that sparked magic. Lines became laughter. Colour carried joy. Shapes whispered stories we never meant to tell.
More than a passing thought, Mo liu is you became a way of seeing, playing and embracing the wonderfully absurd. A fleeting note from creativity, a spark of light-hearted hilarity, an unfiltered expression. A memento that joy in randomness can brighten a day, spark a thought, or connect us beyond words.
As we continue our journey, we invite friends, artists, and fellow dreamers to jump in, collaborate, and share the Mo liu spirit. Creativity thrives when it’s spontaneous, sprinkled with a little ridiculous, and shared among a collective.

Hedy Leung is a Hong Kong-born and London-based ikebana artist who turns petals into poetry and everyday objects into vessels of wonder. Ikebana is not just as an art form, it's storytelling through plants and space, inviting harmony into the unexpected.
In Mo liu is you, an ongoing collaborative project with Angelika Li, logic takes a joyful nap and gentle rebellion leads the way. With scissors in one hand and a sketch in the other, petals become stories and randomness sparks radiant delight, giving rise to abstract ikebana, unexpected giggles, and a generous sprinkle of playful “what ifs.”

Hong Kong-born and Basel-based, Angelika Li delights in weaving stories across cultural borders. As co-founder of PF25 cultural projects, bridges are built between Hong Kong and beyond, nurturing creative exchanges that explore diaspora, identity, and belonging. The ongoing exhibition series, Homeland in Transit, has travelled through cities including Berlin, Basel, Murrhardt, Zurich, Zollikon, Ishigaki, Helsinki, and London.
In Mo liu is you, a cast of whimsical creatures emerges from instinctive doodles and daydreams. As a devoted creature-caregiver, Angelika coaxes their forms, feelings, and freedom to be delightfully nonsensical. Paired with Hedy Leung’s abstract ikebana drawings, these beings tumble into a world where playfulness leads and logic kindly steps aside.
